"Handfasting" was a term used by the ancient Celts to describe their traditional marriage ceremony in which they were literally bound together. It is where the term "tying the knot" comes from.
The kits are used in the wedding ceremony. The celebrant or priest ties the bride and grooms hands together, to symbolise their bond. The tied ribbons are then kept as a keepsake.
Included in the kit is the following -
6 x 2m long x 10mm wide double satin ribbons in colours of choice
1 x organza pouch in complimentary colour
1 x set of instructions for celebrant
1 x list of ribbon colours and their meanings
